What are some disadvantages of being selfish?

It is a matter of all time debate that weather being selfish is good or bad for our life. There is no doubt that being self-centered has both its pros and cons. In this article let us through a light on some of the disadvantages of selfishness that might prove to be a barrier in your healthy, blissful life.

Unhealthy Relations: - If you are a self-centered person then you might not be too lucky in relationships. Because you would give your whole time to yourself and will not have any time for your family members or friends. Everybody want to establish relation with those people who care for them, give them importance, and in return they too show concern and care for you.

So, if you are, too selfish then you will probably have none other than yourself who unconditionally, selflessly care for you. People might admire you upfront, but may not by heart. If you ever hurt them, they will not think even for a second before leaving you.

Guilt and regret: - Being a self-centered person you will want to do the things which gives you pleasure, despite of the fact that it may hurt the other person. Initially you will get temporary pleasure but when you will realize your fault, it may fill you with guilt and regret, but it will not be too late to resolve it.

The guilt may even lower down your self-confidence and put you in a trauma. And as we all know recovery from such conditions are really difficult and requires a lot of effort, so you will never want to face such situations in your life.

Devoid of inner peace and satisfaction: - Self-centered people are often introvert. They like to keep their problems and secrets to themselves. As we all know that happiness is doubled by sharing and problems are reduced to half.

Those people who do not approach anybody for help are entirely filled and they lack inner peace. They often remain unsatisfied with life because they always compare themselves to others, in order to do this, they put together all their hard work on particular thing, in desire to exile, but if they are not able to make it, they lose all their hope, and remain unsatisfied.

Low tempered trait: - selfish persons are poor at dealing with insults. If someone says them anything. Even as a part of joke, they gets highly offended. They always take all the talks at themselves, even if that is not meant for them.

In this way they fill themselves with hatredness toward others, which they don't deserve. Everybody will have to think before speaking because they don't know what might offend you.

Hinders spiritual process: - Selfish person never let any blame come on them. If they make any mistake they put all the blame on either the other person or on the creator itself. This hinders their spiritual growth.

When it comes to credit they take more than the truly deserve, they do never show the gratitude to god. Such practices take them towards their destruction, and they are never able to make it through life in normal way.
