A person fears when he senses a resistance to his/her survival or either there
is an psychological attack on his thoughts. Sometimes fear may be practical and
rest of time it’s just virtual in one’s thoughts. When we are infant we have
less fear but as we grow up it expands.
This is because human brain is
constantly filled with information and knowledge in the growth process by
either his own experiences, some major threatening incidences or by external
sources like the surrounding people. Fear may vary from person to person and
they largely depend on once experience and knowledge. Example:- Some may have fear of
height but others might not, some people gets thrilled by horror movies and
they find it near to death experience. On the other hand some may find that
highly exciting.
But surprisingly fear plays a
significant role in survival. Some amount of fear is necessary to keep life on
track. Imagine if everyone is fearless, they will welcome their death, by
hanging out with wild-dangerous animals and highly venomous snakes, one bite
and you’re dead. But when the fear is way too more, it takes no time to give
them a serious nervous breakdown or an unexpected heart attack.
The main and basic thing is a little fear is necessary for a healthy life and a lot of it completely ruins the living experience itself.
In this article we are going to discuss that how does fear affect your body and the problems you are going to face if you do not give up the habit of worrying about every particular thing, which are not worth it.
Psychological affects of fear.
Brain:- You are in fear, the flow of blood is directed towards your brain, is
more as compared to the situation when you are at rest. This happens just to
increase your critical and analytical thinking for some time, so that brain may
work in process of bringing you out of the threatening situation.
But when you are highly anxious. Your brain is more likely to get stressed by focusing on the consequence of the problem itself rather than the problem solving.

Digestive system: - Due to fear the supply of blood is
reduced to the stomach, the acid secretion is irregular, hence affecting the
overall metabolism you may face certain stomach problems like acidity,
diarrhea, constipation and so on and it also weakens the immune system.
Increasing threat of the chronic illness. You may either feel loss of appetite
or your appetite may increase.
Sleep: - Fear and worry may irregulate the hormone secretion
in the body. The reduced level of melatonin (a sleep hormone) may cause
insomnia, which may further lead to depression. The reduced growth hormone
secretion, could resist your body to grow and also hinder the repair mechanism
inside your body.
Adrenaline: - When you’re in fear, a hormone named
adrenaline is secreted in your body. When this hormone is in excess quantity,
your critical and analytical thinking gets reduced. You are more likely to
focus only on the problem rather than looking for solution. Remember one thing
fear is responsible for the secretion of adrenaline hormone, most of us believe
that when adrenaline is released we get fear, this is a myth.
Heart: - In fearful situation, the blood circulation gets
increased which results in increased stoke volume and heartbeat. A suddenly
increased worry or anxiety leads to heart attack. A large number of people are
killed due to heart attack and nervous breakdown caused by anxiety and fear.
Exercise and yoga on a daily basis may help to prevent the heart and other
ailments.
